GOLDEN PALETTE TROPHY

There were fewer entries for the Golden Pallette this year, the subject being "Dancers", and ballet dancers seemed to be a favourite choice with the majority of members who entered.  From the mixture of mediums on display a lovely watercolour of 2 ballet dancers was chosen as the winner. Congratulations go to Elisabeth Atkinson.  The presentation was made by our Secretary, Maureen Emerton.

LVAS SHIELD 2017

The LVAS Shield is open to those members who have not won an award in the past.  Because the majority of members have their names on various trophies, there were very few entries this year.  However, it was good to see entries from two new members and one of those, Dawn Needham, was successful with her collage and mixed media flower painting.  Very well done Dawn and we look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

TRIP TO LEIGH ON SEA

On a grey day yesterday a full minibus went to Leigh on Sea.  The driver was excellent and the journey each way was just over the hour.   Our first priority was for coffee in Sara's cafe, after which we all went in various directions to find suitable painting subjects with a promise to meet up for lunch.  Some of us met in the Peterboat Inn.   The weather improved, as you will see from the photos, but there were very few sketches produced after lunch.  ...
