There were fewer entries this year for the best Summer painting (any subject) and with the exception of possibly 2 they were all watercolours. After the members had voted the trophy was awarded to Malcolm Norris for his lovely painting of Pin Mill in Suffolk. Well done Malcolm for an excellent piece of work typifying a scene along the Suffolk/Norfolk coast. The presentation was made by our Chairman, Frances Leybourne.
Keith Hornblower is a prominent watercolourist and a Fellow of the Society of Architectural Buildings. Hewowed a packed audience with his watercolour demonstration, working from a photograph of a well known local scene in Broxbourne (opposite St Augustine's Church). Keith also brought examples of his work covering a wide variety of subjects which was admired by all during a tea & coffee break.
